  • Values & Ethos

Our values of Courage, Kindness, Community and Empowerment underpin all of our actions, decisions and approaches at Nore Academy.

    Courage

Starting at a new school, trying new experiences, meeting new people, embarking on projects all take courage. To develop as a person means we have to take a leap of faith into the unknown. This takes courage. There is always a risk of failure, and to bounce back and try again takes resilience. This starts with courage. It is a vital quality to access learning and personal development opportunities.

    Kindness

How we feel about ourselves and how we feel about other people is so important when fostering a supportive and nurturing learning environment. At Nore Academy this starts with Kindness. Kindness to others and also ourselves. We all strive to hold this in mind at all times and this is the foundation of positive relationships.

    Community

The Isle of Sheppey is an area with a strong identity and sense of community. Nore Academy recognises the importance of our place within the community. We aim to foster community links and develop positive relationships with all local stakeholders. Within our curriculum there will also be a strong focus on local history and geography as well as outdoor learning experiences all within the local area.

    Empowerment

We aim to empower our pupils to take full agency over their lives. At Nore Academy alongside our ambitious program of academic learning, we have a strong focus on personal development. Qualifications alone do not equip a person for the challenges that life can present. True empowerment comes from having the ambition, self-determination, confidence, resilience and interpersonal skills to make decisions with courage, kindness and vision.
