Each school day begins with a nurturing start: breakfast is provided in class with the teacher and teaching assistant, creating a calm and welcoming environment where pupils can settle in and prepare for the day ahead. This is followed by tutor time, a dedicated period for students to check in with key members of staff, develop essential life skills, and ease into the structure and routine of the school day.
To further support our pupils' emotional and mental wellbeing, the school has access to a professional counsellor, offering a confidential space for students who may need additional guidance. Additionally, our dedicated nurture team provides both proactive support and acts as key adults for pupils to turn to when they are struggling. The nurture team ensures that every student has someone they can talk to and rely on in times of need.
Communication between home and school is essential in providing consistent support for our pupils. We use Class Dojo to facilitate easy and effective communication between parents and staff, allowing regular check-ins and updates to ensure that everyone is working together to support each child’s development.
At our school, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. By fostering a supportive and structured environment, we empower our pupils to build resilience, develop life skills, and reach their full potential.
