Mental Health

At Nore Academy, we are dedicated to ensuring that every pupil has access to the support and resources they need to thrive both emotionally and academically.

A Supportive and Calming Environment

We understand the importance of creating a school environment that reduces stress and promotes wellbeing. Our classrooms and communal spaces have been thoughtfully designed to provide a calm, structured, and stress-free atmosphere, helping pupils feel at ease throughout the school day. Additionally, we offer dedicated sensory rooms, providing a quiet and soothing space for pupils to self-regulate and manage their emotions when needed.

Pastoral Support for All

Every member of staff at Nore Academy is committed to offering pastoral support, ensuring that all pupils have a trusted adult they can turn to. Alongside this, we have a dedicated Mental Health and Wellbeing Team, which includes Mental Health First Aiders, specialist intervention Teaching Assistants (TAs), and an in-house counsellor. This team works proactively to support students’ emotional needs, offering a range of targeted interventions and personalised support.

Specialist Interventions

To further support our pupils, we provide a variety of specialist interventions designed to help them develop key social and emotional skills. These are delivered by our trained intervention TAs and external professionals and cover areas such as:

  • Managing friendships and peer relationships

  • Recognising and regulating emotions

  • Building self-esteem and confidence

  • Coping with anxiety and stress

These interventions are tailored to meet the needs of individual pupils, ensuring they receive the most appropriate support for their wellbeing.

If you believe someone is at serious risk of harming themselves or others, call 999 or 101.

Kent Police also offer a webchat service if you are not sure how or what to report.
